The Pink Tourmaline has a vitreous lustre with refractive index lying in the range of 1.610-1.698. It hashexagonal crystal system with triangular cross-section, which is often striated. The specific gravity of the silicate crystal falls within the range of 3.0-3.12. It shows an indistinct cleavage and its diaphaneity ranges from transparent to translucent to nearly opaque.
